*Job Title: Housekeeping Helper – Hospital*
*Position Summary*
The Housekeeping Helper supports the hospital’s Environmental Services team to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is critical for infection control and ensuring compliance with hospital hygiene standards.
*Key Responsibilities*
– *Cleaning & Sanitization*: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, ICUs, waiting areas, corridors, washrooms, and offices using hospital-approved chemicals. Change bed linens and make beds in patient wards.
– *Waste Management*: Collect, segregate, and dispose of general and biomedical waste per hospital and government bio-medical waste guidelines. Handle sharps containers and infectious waste with proper PPE.
– *Infection Control*: Follow strict cleaning protocols for isolation rooms and high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, bed rails, and medical equipment. Use color-coded mops/cloths to prevent cross-contamination.
– *Supplies & Linen*: Replenish toiletries, hand sanitizers, and paper supplies. Transport soiled linen to laundry and deliver clean linen to designated areas.
– *Equipment Care*: Operate and maintain floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and other cleaning equipment. Report malfunctions promptly.
– *Safety & Compliance*: Adhere to OSHA, NABH, and hospital safety standards. Wear PPE at all times. Report spills, hazards, or maintenance issues immediately.
– *Support Duties*: Assist nursing staff with non-clinical tasks like moving furniture for terminal cleaning. Respond to emergency clean-up requests for spills or accidents.
*Qualifications & Skills*
– *Education*: 8th/10th pass preferred.
– *Experience*: Prior hospital or hotel housekeeping experience an asset; freshers with training can apply.
– *Skills*: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and infection control. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20kg. Attention to detail and reliability.
